Over the last decade, the Fort Dorchester football program has been very fortunate to have had tremendous success and has brought national and regional attention to the North Charleston and Dorchester County area  and  the state of South Carolina. This past season Fort Dorchester hosted, and beat, an extremely talented team from Viera, FL, just outside of Cocoa Beach. This season The Fort is scheduled to travel to Florida to play Viera, FL. Undoubtedly this trip is going to be extremely costly and the School and District budgets do not cover costs for trips like this. Fort Dorchester’s booster club does a fantastic job raising money, however they cannot come close to raising enough money for this trip, while continuing to provide the necessary services for our players on a weekly, as well as, yearly basis. This is the reason we are contacting business partners, families, friends of the program, teachers, and fans to ask for any financial help that they may be able to contribute to help make this trip possible. The important thing to remember is that this is not just a football game. This is an opportunity for our players to receive national attention from colleges and scouts. This will also allow them to be exposed to cultures, societies, fellow high school players, and sights outside of the state of South Carolina. We as coaches aim to develop fine student athletes, as well as well-rounded young men. The opportunity for our players to travel, sight-see, and meet new people will have a postive effect on their developmental progress for their future.
