The AVID program stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. Students are encouraged to push themselves past what they know they are capable of with their future as the end goal. The AVID program provides scaffolded support that educators and students need to encourage college and career readiness and success.

For one period a day, students receive the additional academic, social, and emotional support that will help them succeed in their school’s most rigorous courses. Students learn how to take focused notes, how to stay organized with all of their materials, as well as learn about all of their opportunities in high school and beyond.   

Our program at Gamble Rogers Middle School offers college and career experiences by taking our students on field trips to local community and state colleges, as well as a career program field trip at the end of the year.
