About

"Heavenly Hounds” is the name created for the Pope High School Ladies Lacrosse Club for the charitable work that they do within the community. Each year the Heavenly Hounds selects a cause that is near and dear to the PHS family and our lacrosse team.

2015:  We raised over $5,000 for Curing Kids Cancer

2016:  We raised over $5,000 for Dolly Strong, the foundation named for the beloved Pope Teacher and XC coach who lost her battle with glioblastoma

2017: Raised over $30,000 for support of the Gully family as team mate Peyton Gully is fighting the challenging diagnosis of a very rare form of leukemia.

2018:  The team has chosen two recipients.  The Gully family in their continued journey fighting the ravages of childhood cancer and the family of Coach Shamus Wykes who sufferend cardiac arrest following a pulmonary embolism in January, which resulted in months away from work for both parents and creating a need to assist with enormous medical bills.

How are funds used?

Our goal is to help ease some of the financial burden carried by both familes as they battle extremely unpredictable circumstances.  Getting both coach and athlete back on the field together healthy and strong.

Your generous support of our team's fundraiser will help help ease some of this burden created by such enormous medical situations, it will also assist the team. The fundraiser will also assist our team in acquiring practice equipment, uniforms, and much more. By meeting our financial goal, we will assist our community and grow the family of Pope ladies lacrosse.
